There are three main advantages in production from coils: 100% optimization of material, maximum productivity and automated production. This makes it possible to produce at minimum industrial cost per manufactured piece resulting maximum profit for the business.
Nearly all industrial products that require punching have a regular and mostly rectangular shape. When processing coils, the products can be positioned in such a way that the material is fully used whereas sheet-fed systems, unless machining pre-cut formats, produce up to 20% waste. Given that the cost of the raw material makes up between 70 and 80% of the cost of the end product, it's easy to understand how efficient and cost-effective coil-fed production is in terms of pure profit per piece.
The maximum production rate is achieved by processing coils. Compared to sheet technologies, the workpiece loading and unloading times are zero. The feeder works in a time that is included in the process so that the machining time is always the same as actual production time.
Other factors, as in-line presses and dedicated tools, allow Dalcos punching machines and systems to achieve constant peak productivity. Higher thru-put means shorter cycle time. With this advantage machining cost per piece produced is reduced and therefore, once again, maximum profit.
A third advantage that adds to the cost-effectiveness of the investment in Dalcos technology is the high level of automation. Once the coil has been loaded, machining is continuous and requires minimum supervision. One operator can follow up to four Dalcos systems at the same time. This means low labor costs for each Dalcos plant and consequently a reduced hourly cost of the line. Yet another contribution to the profitability of your company!
